Staff writerOctober 9, 2013

A woman who died following a hit-and-run crash in Sumner Saturday has been identified as 23-year-old Rachel Givens of Enumclaw.

The Pierce County Medical Examiner’s Office released her name Wednesday.

Givens was crossing East Valley Highway about 11 p.m. in the 2700 block, when police believe she was hit by a small, dark sedan that kept going.

Friends said Givens was a para-educator at Muckleshoot Tribal School, where she also coached soccer and basketball.

Sumner police ask anyone with information about the vehicle or driver to call 253-299-5678.
