The Mexican consulate in Seattle will host its 13th annual Binational Health Week, including events in Pierce County, this month.
Free workshops and classes in Spanish will be from 1 to 3 p.m. Monday to Oct. 18 at the Tacoma SeaMar Clinic, 1112 S. Cushman Ave.
While the services are aimed at Mexicans, organizers said everyone is welcome. It’s a binational event, because it’s organized throughout both the United States and Canada.
Topics Monday will include sexually transmitted diseases and dental health. Tuesday’s presentations will cover vaccines and diabetes, and will include free vaccines for tetanus, diphtheria and pertussis.
Wednesday the clinic will provide information about high blood pressure and free glucose and cholesterol testing. Thursday will be dedicated to smokers looking to quit. Free blood pressure tests will be given Friday.
