The Tacoma School Board agreed Thursday night to place a pair of tax levies before voters in a Feb. 11 election.
One levy would replace the current levy that supports 24 percent of the school district’s day-to-day operations. The second would fund technology improvements such as student and staff computers, printers and other equipment.
The proposed operations levy would raise a total of $344 million -- $86 million a year for four years -- beginning in 2015. The technology levy would raise $40 million -- $10 million each year -- over the same time frame.
