Man charged with trying to have sex with underage Pierce County girls

Pierce County prosecutors have charged a 21-year-old man accused of exchanging nude pictures with underage girls and trying to meet one of them for sex.

The man pleaded not guilty to two counts of communication with a minor for immoral purposes and one count of third-degree attempted child rape. He was ordered jailed in lieu of $75,000 bail.

A Lakewood police detective discovered that a 13-year-old girl was exchanging social media messages with the man, including nude photographs and videos, according to charging papers.

The girl and her mother allowed the detective to communicate with the man through the girl’s account. During that exchange, the man allegedly asked the girl’s age and still agreed to meet for sex.

He is also accused of exchanging messages with a 15-year-old girl. The man was arrested Thursday when he showed up at a local high school to meet the girl but instead was greeted by the undercover detective.

During an interview with detectives, the man allegedly said he knows sleeping with underage girls is wrong but “he has a problem and is too sexually driven and frustrated,” records show.
