Auburn's former SuperMall emerges from renovation as The Outlet Collection

The doughnut-shaped former Auburn SuperMall gets a new moniker this week as it makes public the fruits of a $35 million renovation.

The Outlet Collection, as the mall is now known, has seen its floors replaced, its furniture updated, its color palette refreshed, a new mid-mall connector created to speed up access and a new dining area opened.

The mall begins its three-day "grand unveiling" Thursday at 9 a.m. with guest speakers and a ceremonial opening of the renovated mall.

The first 1,000 people through the collection's main entrance (near the Coach Factory) will receive a swag bag and door prizes, the mall's owner says.

Along with the mall's physical renovation, new stores have been added to the mix of outlet shops within the building. Among those are a Nike Factory Store, H&M, Brooks Brothers Factory, Chico's Outlet, LOFT Outlet, J. Crew Factory and Skechers.

Those retailers will be joining more than 130 existing retailers in the mall. Major stores among the existing merchants include, Coach Factory, Banana Republic, Tommy Hilfiger, Old Navy Outlet and Nordstrom Rack.
