Gronkowski questionable for Sunday

The Sports NetworkOctober 18, 2013

Foxboro, MA ( - New England Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski may very well make his season-debut Sunday against the New York Jets.

Gronkowski was listed as questionable on Friday's injury report, which was released just hours after reports surfaced that he was cleared to play by his doctors.

The two-time Pro Bowl tight end has been recovering from numerous offseason surgeries on his back and forearm.

Gronkowski has been practicing with the team and it was thought he might play last week against New Orleans, but was held out after medical clearance was not given.

The 24-year-old Arizona product twice fractured his forearm last year and played only 11 games, finishing the season with 55 receptions for 790 yards with 11 touchdowns. He has 38 TD catches in three NFL seasons.

Wide receiver Danny Amendola (concussion, groin), defensive lineman Tommy Kelly (knee) and running back Leon Washington (ankle) have each been ruled out.

Cornerback Aqib Talib (hip) is listed as doubtful, even though he practiced on Friday.

Also questionable are running back Brandon Bolden (knee), tackle Marcus Cannon (shoulder), guard Dan Connolly (concussion), wide receiver Julian Edelman (thigh), tight end Michael Hoomanawanui (knee), wide receiver Matt Slater (wrist) and safety Tavon Wilson (hamstring).
