Dozens of police officers responded Saturday evening to an argument involving dozens of motorcycle gang members in Spanaway.
“The perception of what was happening was worse than what it really was,” said Pierce County Sheriff’s spokesman Ed Troyer, whose agency is responsible for the area where the fight happened. Troyer provided this account Saturday:
Around 7:15 p.m. sheriff’s deputies received multiple calls about bikers at a restaurant in the 18200 block of Pacific Avenue in Spanaway. Callers said there were lots of bikers, Troyer said, so sheriff’s deputies called for assistance.
“There were reported to be a hundred of them, and there aren’t that many of us,” he said. “There were no arrests, no assaults, or fights or shootings or anything, but there were some people pretty worked up.”
Police broke up the argument, he said, and sent various gangs on their various ways.
