Former Kent attorney sentenced to 25 years in prison for child porn case

Staff writerOctober 21, 2013

A former Kent attorney was sentenced today to 25 years in prison for possessing child pornography and filming himself molesting two young boys, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office.

David Engle, 50, was arrested last November and later convicted of production of child porn, receipt of material containing child porn and possession of child porn. The Maple Valley man used to be a family law attorney in Kent and ran a business involving youth baseball.

Investigators began looking into Engle after an international movie production company went out of business for selling child porn and agents seized their inventory and records.

Engle bought 184 items from the company, prosecutors said.

Detectives searched his home and storage locked in November and found more than 500 videos of Engle molesting a young boy. They later uncovered more videos of him molesting a different boy, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office.

King County prosecutors have charged Engle in those cases.
