Report: Rams inquired about Favre

The Sports NetworkOctober 24, 2013

(SportsNetwork.com) - The St. Louis Rams apparently looked long and hard for a new quarterback after Sam Bradford suffered a season-ending ACL injury on Sunday.

According to ESPN, the Rams gave Brett Favre a call to find out if he was willing to come out of retirement.

Favre, now 44 years old, last played during the 2010 season with Minnesota. He has come out of retirement in the past.

After calling it quits following the 2007 season in Green Bay, Favre decided he wanted to return and eventually landed with the New York Jets for the 2008 campaign. He then retired again in February of 2009, but found his way to the Vikings later that year and spent two seasons in Minnesota.

The Rams, who had only Kellen Clemens on the roster as a backup when Bradford went down, eventually signed quarterbacks Brady Quinn and Austin Davis on Wednesday.
