A crash involving two pickup trucks injured four near Buckley Sunday, according to East Pierce Fire & Rescue.

The crash was reported just after 5 p.m. in the 12600 block of Spiketon Road, the agency said.

One person in serious condition was taken to a local trauma center, and three were taken to area hospitals with injuries that were not life-threatening, Battalion Chief Rick Goetz said in a release.

Crews closed both lanes of the road as they responded.

It was not immediately clear what caused the crash, but according to East Pierce, witnesses said a large pickup ran into a smaller one.

Pierce County sheriff's deputies were investigating. Check back for updates.
