Staff writerOctober 30, 2013

An armed man wanted for a domestic violence assault barricaded himself in a vehicle this morning, prompting a nearly four-hour standoff with Federal Way police.

Officers learned about 3:40 a.m. that the man was in the 33200 block of 26th Avenue SW and went to arrest him but the man locked himself in the car.

He was taken into custody about 7:20 a.m., police spokeswoman Cathy Schrock said.

The man was wanted for an assault Tuesday involving a threat with a firearm, police said.
