Staff writerOctober 30, 2013

Tacoma police had South 56th Street closed between Oakes Street and Junett as of 8 p.m. Wednesday as they investigated a stabbing that injured two people, spokeswoman Loretta Cool said.

It appeared a man was jumped by his neighbors, and defended himself by stabbing them, Cool said.

The conditions of the two men stabbed were not immediately available, but both were going to the hospital.

Cool said everyone involved  had been detained by police.

Further details were not immediately available.
