Two arrested after fight at Tacoma bar leads to shooting

Staff writerNovember 1, 2013

A 30-year-old man was arrested late Thursday after allegedly shooting a bar patron in the arm to keep the man from punching him, Tacoma police said.

The fight started between two men about 11:30 p.m. at Latitude 84, 8401 S. Hosmer St. A regular stepped in to try and break up the fight when a fourth man shoved the regular to the ground, police said.

“When the regular went to punch the guy who pushed him, the guy fired off two rounds and hit him in the forearm,” police spokeswoman Loretta Cool said.

The 45-year-old victim suffered minor injuries.

The shooter had a woman hide his gun in her car but officers located it and arrested the pair.
