FUNDRAISER: Banquet supports area fishing industry

November 2, 2013

Some tickets remain for the Northwest Sportfishing Industry Association’s 14th annual Washington Banquet set for Saturday.

The banquet, and a similar one held in Oregon, are the association’s major fundraisers each year. There will be silent and live auctions, featuring a number of fishing-related items.

Stated in 1993, the Oregon City, Ore.-based association represents businesses around the Pacific Northwest that rely on fishing. Among the association’s recent efforts has been the opening of more fishing opportunities on the Columbia River, winning a court case to help with the sea lion problems and a steelhead recycle program that has been very successful.

Tickets are $75 each and are available by contacting 503-631-8859 or nsiafishing. org/?event=wa-banquet.

The event, running from 5-10 p.m., will take place at Twin Lakes Golf & Country Club, 3583 SW 320th St., Federal Way.
