November 3, 2013

An Edmonds woman was killed and a Covington man critically injured early Sunday morning in a one-car crash in Kent.

The man, 20, was driving southbound on 148th Avenue SE in the 24800 block around 1:30 a.m. when the vehicle left the roadway and struck a telephone pole.

The woman, 21, was in the passenger seat and died from injuries at the scene. The man was transported to Harborview Medical Center, where he remains in critical condition.

Speed and possible driver impairment were likely factors in the crash, Kent Police said. They are investigating.
