LAKEWOOD: Clover Park seeks applications for board

Clover Park School Board member Jose Salamanca has resigned his seat to travel to the Philippines for an extended time. He joined the board in December 2011.

The board will appoint a replacement for the District 1 seat. Applications will be accepted in the superintendent’s office through 5 p.m. Dec. 2.

An applicant-orientation session will be held at 4 p.m. Dec. 9 at the district’s Student Services Center, 10903 Gravelly Lake Dr. SW.

The board will hold a special meeting to interview candidates and review applications at 6 p.m. Dec. 12 at the center. Board members expect to swear in a new member Jan. 13.

The successful applicant will serve until the next regular school district election in November 2015.

District 1 generally covers the neighborhoods serving students at Carter Lake, Oakwood, Southgate and Tyee Park elementary schools.
