PIERCE COUNTY: Grants to help districts with new teachers

Two Pierce County school districts are among seven in Washington that have received state grants aimed at helping beginning teachers grow in their profession. Clover Park School District in Lakewood was awarded $139,500 and the Eatonville School District received $21,000.

School districts can use the money to help in hiring, orientation, mentoring, professional development and assessment for teacher growth.
