More than 50 vehicles vandalized in Puyallup since Wednesday, police looking for suspects

Staff writerNovember 11, 2013

Puyallup police are looking for suspects they believe have vandalized more than 50 vehicles throughout the city since last week.

Two witnesses have told police that a man has been hanging out the rear passenger window of a red, four-door vehicle, smashing side mirrors and windows with a pipe or baseball bat as the suspect vehicle drives by, police spokesman Scott Engle said.

Wednesday night was when the first reported smashings occurred, the department said.

There was no new damage reported Sunday night, Engle said.

The suspects did not hit a specific area of the city, police said, though they identified the 400-600 blocks of 13th Street Southwest as one area hit Saturday night or early Sunday.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Puyallup police tip line at 253-770-3343. Tipsters can remain anonymous.
