2 men in serious condition after shooting at South 19th and Ainsworth in Tacoma

Tacoma Fire was dispatched to South 19th and South Ainsworth streets about 8:30 p.m. for a reported shooting Monday.

Battalion Chief Jolene Davis said police had secured the scene about that time.

Officers blocked off 19th Street in the area as they investigated.

Several hours later, Tacoma police confirmed that there had been a shooting.

Spokeswoman Loretta Cool said two adult males had been shot in the incident, and that they were in serious condition.

The pair told police it was a drive-by shooting, but did not see a vehicle, Cool said.

Police did not have any suspect information.

Further details were not immediately available.
