Kent teen critically injured while driving to school

Staff writerNovember 12, 2013

A 16-year-old Kent boy was critically injured while driving to school this morning in a crash that also sent two others to the hospital.

Although police said the teen died at Harborview Medical Center, his family told KIRO-TV the boy remains on life support.

Police said a 49-year-old woman turned left into an intersection near Kentridge High School and struck the teen’s vehicle as he headed west on South 208th Street. The teen lost control and crossed into oncoming traffic.

A 58-year-old woman driving west couldn’t avoid striking the teen’s vehicle.

A Renton police officer happened by the crash immediately after it happened and worked to save the boy.

The two female drivers involved are listed in stable condition.
