Mud and Guts: Cyclocross in Spanaway

The fourth of sixth events in the Seattle Cyclocross Series offered numerous races at all age and experience levels Sunday in Spanaway. The booming sport of cyclocross requires racers to carry their bikes over obstacles and race on surfaces ranging from asphalt to grass to mud and dirt. While most competitors use bikes specifically designed for this sport, first-timers often first sample the sport on moutain bikes. The series continues Dec. 1 in Steilacoom and the final will be Dec. 15 in Enumclaw. Info:
