No bomb found at Bonney Lake High School after students sent home

Staff writerNovember 19, 2013

Students at Bonney Lake High School were sent home Tuesday morning after a bomb threat was found in a campus bathroom.

Officer Todd Green said the note was found about 9 a.m. and students were immediately evacuated from the school at 10920 199th Ave Ct E.

While police used a bomb-sniffing dog to search the school, buses were called to take students home. After two hours, police ended their search and announced there was no evidence of an explosive.

Police reviewed security video but too many people were seen coming and going from the bathrooms to pinpoint a suspect.

Teachers had a planning day, and after-school activities will take place as usual, according to the Sumner School District.
