Two dozen high school students could be chosen to participate in the Young Entrepreneurs Academy, an after-school program sponsored by the Tacoma-Pierce County Chamber and the Tacoma School District.
Interested students and parents who want to learn more should attend an information session Thursday, Nov. 21, at 6 p.m. at the Chamber's offices, 950 Pacific Ave., Suite 300.
The academy, known as YEA!, will guide the students through the process of starting and running a business or social movement. Students will work with local business leaders to write a business plan, pitch an idea to investors, obtain funding and legally register their business, among other things.

YEA! is a national nonprofit organization working in 30 states.
