Tacoma man killed in Saturday evening crash

A Tacoma man was killed late Saturday night when the car he was driving collided with a van after failing to stop at a stop sign on state Route 702.

According the State Patrol, Donald Hardesty, 37, was driving eastbound on SR 702 just before midnight in a silver 2012 Kia Rio when his vehicle drove through the stop sign approaching state Route 7 and crashed into a southbound Dodge Caravan. He was killed in the crash.

The driver of the van, 47, from Eatonville, was transported to Good Samaritan Hospital and treated for injuries. His condition is unknown.

The State Patrol is investigating the collision and says drugs or alcohol may have been involved.
