Report: Seahawks' Thurmond to start four-game suspension

The Sports NetworkNovember 24, 2013

(SportsNetwork.com) - Seattle Seahawks cornerback Walter Thurmond will reportedly begin serving a four-game suspension for violating the NFL's drug policy next week.

According to various media outlets, including NFL.com and ESPN, Thurmond has decided to drop an appeal of the non-PED ban and begin serving the penalty on Monday.

The Seahawks are on their bye this week and don't play again until next Monday against the New Orleans Saints.

In 11 games this season, including three starts, Thurmond has 31 tackles and one interception. He returned the interception 29 yards for a touchdown last week against Minnesota.

The Seahawks are already without cornerback Brandon Browner, who is expected to be sidelined for at least four weeks with a groin injury.
