Recap: Purdue vs. Siena

West Lafayette, IN (SportsNetwork.com) - Bryson Scott came off the bench to score 16 points as the Purdue Boilermakers held off the Siena Saints, 81-73, as part of the Old Spice Classic at Mackey Arena.

Terone Johnson added 15 points for Purdue (5-0), while Ronnie Johnson and A.J. Hammons netted 14 and 12 points, respectively. Hammons also blocked six shots for the home team, and Errick Peck ripped down 11 rebounds.

For Siena (2-4), Evan Hymes (18 points, five assists) and Brett Bisping (16 points, eight rebounds) were both strong in reserve roles. Rob Poole tallied a double-double with 12 points and 11 rebounds, while Marquis Wright logged 10 points and five assists.

Neither team shot greater than 40 percent from the field in the first half, but Purdue carried a 39-36 lead into intermission. The Boilermakers led by 11 with 3:19 to play before the half when Siena ripped off an 8-0 run to close out the frame.

The Boilermakers improved their field goal shooting to 50 percent in the second half. The Saints brought their deficit to one possession on a few occasions but could never tie or take the lead.

Purdue did not have a great game from beyond the arc at 5-of-16, but Siena was even worse at just 1-of-10.
