Foss Harbor Marina boat fire in Tacoma displaces 1

Staff writerNovember 24, 2013

One person was displaced by a fire on a boat Sunday night in the Foss Harbor Marina, according to Tacoma Fire.

The resident of the roughly 40-foot power boat was not home at the time of the blaze, and no one was injured, spokesman Joe Meinecke said.

Firefighters responded about 8:40 p.m. to 821 Dock St., and found flames coming from the upper deck of the vessel in the Foss Harbor Marina.

They contained the fire to that boat, and had it extinguished less than an hour later, Meinecke said.

Investigators were working to determine the cause and extent of the damage.
