3 local school boards honored for high achievement

The Washington State School Directors’ Association has named 15 school boards in Washington, including three in Pierce County, as boards of distinction.

The annual program honors school boards that demonstrate effective use of state standards that lead to high levels of student and district achievement.

The local winners were Auburn, Franklin Pierce and University Place school districts.
