A fire caused significant damage to a Kent home Sunday night.

Six people were displaced after a fire chewed through their Kent home Sunday night, according to the Fire Department.

Firefighters were called to the 26400 block of 183rd Avenue Southeast about 9 p.m. and found flames coming both from underneath the house and from the south end.

After extinguishing the blaze, crews found significant damage to the crawl space under the home and in the attic. Investigators haven’t figured out what started the fire.

The Red Cross is helping the family of six find a temporary place to live.
