No one was home when the 40-foot power boat caught fire Sunday night at Foss Harbor Marina.

A boat fire in the Foss Harbor Marina that displaced one person Sunday night was caused by an electrical failure that ignited paneling on the vessel, according to the Tacoma Fire Department.

The blaze caused an estimated $78,000 in damages to the 40-foot power boat at 821 Dock St.

Firefighters were called about 8:40 p.m. Sunday and spent less than an hour extinguishing the flames, which were contained to that boat. The resident was not home at the time.
