Police seek information about Kalama man fatally stabbed in Tacoma

Staff writerNovember 27, 2013

Tacoma police are asking the public to help piece together the night a Kalama man was fatally stabbed this month, and to identify anyone he may have known or been seen with in the Tacoma area.

Derek Wagner, 27, was found dead in the backyard of a home about 1 p.m. Nov. 17 in the 4500 block of South Asotin Street in Tacoma.

Detectives think he may have gone to a house party nearby the night before, or early the 17th.

Wagner was recently released from the Clallam Bay Correctional Facility after serving several years in prison for burglary, according to Tacoma-Pierce County Crime Stoppers.

Anyone with information about his whereabouts close to the time of his death is asked to call 253-591-5959. Tips are anonymous, and can result in a reward.
