Chetzemoka ferry out of service until further notice

The Chetzemoka ferry, which runs between Tacoma's Point Defiance and the Tahlequah terminal on the south end of Vashon Island, broke down Friday morning and is out of service until further notice.

"Alternate routes are available off the north end of Vashon Island until service resumes," the state Department of Transportation reported.

The nature of the trouble was not disclosed.
