Fire destroys Puyallup farm house

Staff writerDecember 2, 2013

A fire destroyed a Puyallup farm house early this morning in a dramatic blaze that shot flames into the air and could be seen across the valley, according to East Pierce Fire & Rescue.

A neighbor in the 15000 block of 106th Street East called 911 about 2 a.m. to report hearing a loud explosion and seeing a nearby home engulfed in flames.

Arriving firefighters found “fire shooting through the roof” of the one-and-a-half story home, the agency said in a news release.

Orting Valley Fire & Rescue assisted in dousing the fire, which completely destroyed the house.

A cause has not been determined. No one was home at the time of the fire.
