Kent student ranks as one of the world's tops in calculus test

Tacoma News TribuneDecember 3, 2013

Kentridge High School senior Tracy Tran is one of only eight candidates in the world to earn every possible point on the Advanced Placement Calculus level AB exam, the Kent School District announced. She answered every multiple-choice question correctly and earned the maximum scores on each essay in the free-response section of the exam.

"This exceptional accomplishment is not Tracy's first and won't be her last," Superintendent Edward Lee Vargas said in a news release. "We're all so very proud of her and know she will continue to do exceptional things in her life."

Tracy Tran is also a National Merit Scholar semifinalist.
