Report: Robinson Cano headed to Seattle for physical

Second baseman Robinson Cano is heading today to Seattle from the Dominican Republic to under a physical examination on Wednesday, according to a report by’s Enrique Rojas on Twitter.

There has been no confirmation yet from the Mariners or Cano’s camp on Rojas’ report, but it’s worth noting it was Rojas who broke the story last Friday of the 10-year, $240 million deal when other media outlets were reporting a riff in negotiations.

Assuming Rojas is correct again, that would likely set the stage for official confirmation of the deal on Thursday at an introductory news conference in Seattle.
