Recap: Marquette vs. IUPUI

Milwaukee, WI (SportsNetwork.com) - Davante Gardner registered a double-double with 20 points and 11 rebounds as the Marquette Golden Eagles coasted to an 86-50 victory over the IUPUI Jaguars in a non-conference matchup at the Bradley Center.

Jamil Wilson contributed 16 points, seven rebounds and six assists for Marquette (6-4) as it ended a two-game losing streak. Juan Anderson added 11 points and five assists, Deonte Burton netted 10 points and Jajuan Johnson also scored 10 points. The Golden Eagles assisted 28 of their 37 made field goal attempts and knocked down 6-of-9 tries from behind the 3-point line.

Ian Chiles paced the Jaguars (4-8) with 21 points. The setback snapped IUPUI's three-game winning streak.

Marquette outscored the Jaguars, 18-4, in the paint and held a 9-2 edge in second chance points in the opening 20 minutes of the contest. IUPUI went into halftime trailing, 43-18, after it connected on only 28.6 percent of its shots from the floor.

The Golden Eagles converted 71.4 percent of their field goal attempts in the second half to keep the visitors at bay.

Marquette enjoyed a 46-23 edge in the rebounding battle. The Golden Eagles' reserves tallied 48 points while IUPUI received only 16 points from its bench.
