TACOMA: Bellarmine student wins essay competition

Bellarmine Preparatory School’s Oakley Reid recently won first place in the greater Seattle-area Veterans of Foreign Wars “Voice of Democracy” competition for her essay, “Why I’m Optimistic About Our Nation’s Future.”

The program is open to students in grades 9-12. Judging criteria includes originality, content and delivery.
