Students in select programs at some community colleges will have access to added advising, small classes and added academic rigor designed to help them gain admission to 27 four-year public and private colleges around the country.

The University of Puget Sound in Tacoma and Community Colleges of Spokane are part of the national network, known as the American Honors program. Other Washington state four-year colleges participating are Gonzaga University and Whitworth University, both in Spokane. The network is also talking with other Washington state community colleges about possible participation.

Tuition for the program at Community Colleges of Spokane is $6,750.
