Recap: UNLV vs. Radford

Las Vegas, NV (SportsNetwork.com) - Khem Birch tallied 16 points and 10 rebounds to lead the UNLV Runnin' Rebels past the Radford Highlanders, 81-62, as part of the Las Vegas Classic at the Thomas & Mack Center.

Jelan Kendrick paced the Rebels (5-4) with 18 points, while Roscoe Smith also registered a double-double with 13 points and 12 boards. Christian Wood added 10 points for the hosts.

For Radford (6-4), Javonte Green was the only player in double figures with 18 points, doing so on 8-of-18 from the field.

UNLV shot a lofty 66.7 percent from the field in the first half in addition to going 10-of-13 at the foul line, as it carried a 45-35 lead into the halftime locker room. Radford hung around by shooting 45.5 percent from the floor in the opening stanza.

The Rebels led by as many as 25 midway through the second half, and while the Highlanders managed to rip off a 15-2 run late in the frame, they never truly threatened UNLV's advantage.

UNLV shot 6-of-17 from 3-point range on the night, while Radford was only 2- of-14 from beyond the arc.
