Haven’t done your shopping? Fret not. The good folks at the Grit City Gift Fair are handing you a golden opportunity this weekend to buy locally made artisan gifts and party at the same time. Salsa and hip hop at Charisma’s “Nutcracker”

“A Child’s Christmas” on Vashon

Drama Dock on Vashon Island present Dylan Thomas’ dreamy mid-winter poem “A Child’s Christmas in Wales” with a cast ranging in age from 10 to 89. A Day in the Life of Gig Harbor photo contest

Get out your cameras. The Gig Harbor Lighthouse Association is sponsoring a photo contest open to anyone who wants to submit a digital photo this weekend of Gig Harbor to celebrate the lighthouse’s 25th anniversary. Take photos between Dec. 19-22 that contrast the past and present of Gig Harbor, and can replicate those currently up in “A Day in the Life – photos from 1987” at the Harbor History Museum. Upload to the Gig Harbor search box on photoscramble.com by Dec. 22. $5/entry. Public voting on the photos runs Dec. 23-Jan. 4.
