5 arrested in connection to death of Kalama man stabbed in Tacoma

Staff writerDecember 19, 2013

Police have arrested five suspects in the death of a Kalama man fatally stabbed in Tacoma last month, Pierce County Prosecutor Mark Lindquist said Thursday.

Lindquist said alleged romantic affairs and jealously appeared to be factors in the homicide of Derek Wager.

The 27-year-old was found dead about 1 p.m. Nov. 17 in the backyard of a home in the 4500 block of South Asotin Street, after detectives believe he attended a house party in the area the night before.

Further details about the suspects and how they were identified and arrested were not released Thursday.

Lindquist said charges might be filed Friday.
