Recap: TX-San Antonio vs. Georgia State

San Antonio, TX (SportsNetwork.com) - R.J. Hunter set a new school record with 12 makes from beyond the arc en route to a career-high 41 points as the Georgia State Panthers cruised to a 99-68 decision over the Texas-San Antonio Roadrunners at the Convocation Center.

Hunter knocked down 12-of-19 attempts from behind the 3-point line and blocked three shots for the Panthers (6-6) as they climbed back to the .500 mark with the win. Manny Atkins contributed 20 points and eight rebounds while Ryan Harrow tallied 19 points ,eight assists and three steals in the victory.

Jordan Sims paced UTSA (3-8) with 17 points and also tied for the team-lead with six boards. James Williams came off the bench to add 16 points while Edrico McGregor posted 10 points on 4-of-5 shooting from the floor.

Hunter scored 20 of his points in the first half of the contest to help the Panthers take a 46-28 lead into the intermission. GSU shot 53.3 percent from the field and converted 7-of-8 attempts at the free-throw line in the opening 20 minutes of the contest. The Roadrunners were limited to 39.1 percent efficiency from the floor before halftime.

UTSA improved to shoot 48.1 percent from the field in the second stanza, but the visitors knocked down 12-of-16 tries from beyond the arc to increase their advantage on the scoreboard.

GSU finished the contest 19-of-32 from 3-point range and also made 20 of its 24 attempts at the charity stripe. The Roadrunners lost by a sizeable margin despite holding a 31-24 edge in the rebounding battle.
