After the rush of Nutcrackers, Messiahs and stage productions it sometimes seems like nothing happens arts-wise just before Christmas – but luckily for Tacomans, flamenco dancer and teacher Marisela Fleites-Lear is stepping into the breach with an evening of live flamenco and tango music and dance this Saturday at Madera Furnishings downtown.

The woodworking and artisan design gallery will play host to Fleites’ students dancing sevillanas, bulerias and tango to live music and recordings, with Fleites herself dancing flamenco. Lisa Clovis and Cuban singer Alejandro Fleites with his trio Sin Embargo will accompany the dancing and perform solos.

Bring a dish and drinks to share. $5 requested donation.
