2 officers taken to hospital after crash at South Tacoma Way and 74th

Staff writerDecember 23, 2013

A crash between a patrol car and a black Honda sent two police officers to the hospital Monday, Tacoma police spokeswoman Loretta Cool said.

The officers didn’t appear to have serious injuries from the crash, which happened about 4 p.m. at South 74th Street and South Tacoma Way, she said.

Officials still were investigating the crash, but Cool said it appeared the patrol car, which had its lights and sirens activated, was responding to a call when it came to a full stop at the intersection. As it started to edge out, the Honda hit it, she said.

No one in the Honda was taken to the hospital.

Further details were not immediately available.
