Police say Tacoma bank robber fumbled with note, announced robbery instead

Staff writerDecember 23, 2013

Police say a man robbed the Community 1st Credit Union in the 4700 block of South Pine Street in Tacoma Monday.

The suspect approached a teller just before 12:30 p.m., fumbled with a note, and proceeded to say "This is a robbery," police spokeswoman Loretta Cool said.

She said he then fled with the cash bank staff handed over, and that no weapon was shown.

He is a white man, about 6 foot, 140 pounds, and was wearing a dark coat, gray hooded sweatshirt and light blue jeans, Cool said.
