Alaska Airlines flights back to normal after flu forces cancellations

Staff writerDecember 24, 2013

Alaska Airlines flight schedule was operating normally Tuesday after a bout of the flu sidelined pilots and flight attendants Sunday and Monday and forced cancellation of 24 flights.

Alaska spokeswoman Bobbie Egan said enough pilots and flight attendants have recovered from the bug to restore the flight schedule to normal.

"Not everybody's well yet, but we've called in extra crews to fill in where crew members are still sick," said Egan.

Some 270 passengers were affected by the cancellations.

Christmas Eve is one of the more heavily traveled days of the year.
