Lacey bank robbery suspects in police custody

December 28, 2013

Two men were arrested Friday in connection with the robbery of a Navy Federal Credit Union branch in Lacey, police reported.

Witnesses said a man walked into the branch at 1140 Galaxy Drive NE about 5:20 p.m., implied he had a weapon and demanded money.

Tellers handed over an undisclosed amount of cash, and the man ran out of the branch, police said.

Officers later stopped a vehicle in the 7800 block of Mullen Road Southeast and arrested two men, one of whom they suspect was the robber.

Both men — a 55-year-old Seattle resident and a 54-year-old Yakima resident — were booked into the Thurston County Jail for investigation of first-degree robbery, police said.
