Recap: Boston College vs. VA Commonwealth

Brooklyn, NY (SportsNetwork.com) - Led by 14 points from Juvonte Reddic, the Virginia Commonwealth Rams downed the Boston College Eagles, 69-50, in the Brooklyn Hoops Winter Festival at the Barclays Center.

For the Rams (11-3), Rob Brandenberg and Treveon Graham each added 13 points and Melvin Johnson scored 12.

Oliver Hanlan led the Eagles (4-9) with 17 points and Ryan Anderson chipped in with 13 points.

Despite shooting just 28.6 percent from the field and 3-of-15 from beyond the arc in the opening period, the Rams took a 22-17 lead into halftime. They held BC to just 35 percent shooting as the Eagles missed all six of their 3-point tries in the first half.

After intermission, VCU found its shooting touch, connecting on 51.4 percent of its field goal tries. BC improved to 41.7 percent but still had difficulty from long-range, making only 3-of-12 from 3-point territory in the second. The Rams opened the second half with an 11-4 run to push their advantage to double-digits. They eventually led by as many as 27, as they coasted to the easy road win, their seventh victory in their last eight games.

The Rams forced 23 Eagles' turnovers and converted them into 22 points. VCU had the edge on points in the paint, outscoring BC 34-28 down low.
