B y the numbers The number of hours of labor donated by volunteers in the first 20 years of the Washington Trails Association’s trail maintenance program. This year, volunteers have worked more than 104,000 hours on projects. This has been a record-setting year for the trail advocacy group. It set records for trail maintenance (190 trails built, maintained or protected statewide), total volunteers (more than 3,300) and youth engagement (26 percent of all volunteers were youth).
