OLYMPIA CLASS: Sea kayak course registration opens

December 29, 2013

Registration will open Wednesday for the 2014 Introduction to Sea Kayaking course offered by Olympia Mountaineers.

The course gives a basic introduction to sea kayaking in six sessions in April and May. No prior knowledge or experience is required. All instruction will be in single kayaks. If you do not own a kayak, rentals are available.

The course fee is $185. Students who do not own or have access to a kayak and required equipment will be required to rent on three occasions: open-water session, wet paddle and one additional club-sponsored trip. Kayaks will be provided for the pool session. Other expenses could be required for appropriate clothing and equipment.

Sea kayaking involves a level of strength, flexibility and endurance possessed by most physically active individuals. If you have questions or concerns about your ability to participate, contact course leader Will Greenough at 360-508-0456.

The class is limited to 24 students.

To register, you must first complete a registration form at olympiamountaineers. org. Send the completed form to Greenough at kayakwill@yahoo.com, or mail it to 217 Sears Road, Winlock WA 98596. You also have to register online for the class.
